A |     지선 참패·쇄신 난항 끝 대표직 내려놔 부산시장 후보 사건도 재조명이준석 개혁신당 대표가 대표직에서 물러났다. 6·3 지방선거 참패 이후 당 쇄신을 둘러싼 내홍이 이어진 가운데 부산에서는 지난 지방선거 당시 시장 후보 공천을 둘러싸고 제기됐던 책임론도 다시 주목받고 있다. 이 대표는 26일 국회에서 기자회견을 열고 당 대표직 사퇴를 선언했다. 지방선거 이후 당의 자강과 쇄신을 위한 고민과 제안을 이어왔지만 당내에서 충분한 호응을 얻지 못했다는 취지로 사퇴 배경을 설명했다.                    ▲개혁신당 대표인 이준석 의원이 26일 국회 소통관에서 열린 기자회견에서 대표직 사퇴를 발표한 뒤 고개숙여 인사하고 있다. ⓒ연합뉴스 개혁신당은 지난 지방선거에서 전국적으로 기초의원 1석을 확보하는 데 그쳤다. 부산시장 선거에서도 정이한 후보가 1.56%를 얻어 3위에 머물렀다. 선거 이후에는 후보 검증 문제가 불거졌다. 정 전 후보가 선거운동 과정에서 지인과 공모해 자신이 습격당한 것처럼 꾸민 혐의로 구속 기소되면서 개혁신당의 공천 책임도 도마에 올랐다. 이 대표는 지방선거 당시 정 후보 지원에 직접 나섰다. 지난 3월 부산을 찾아 지지를 호소했고, 피습 사건 직후에도 부산에서 함께 선거운동을 벌이며 힘을 실었다. 그러나 선거 이후 사건의 실체가 드러나자 이 대표는 부산시민에게 공개 사과했다. 당시 그는 개혁신당이 공천한 후보인 만큼 '무한한 책임'을 느낀다는 취지로 밝히며 당 차원의 진상조사와 책임 규명 방침을 내놨다. 한편 정이한 전 부산시장 후보는 현재 구속 기소돼 재판을 앞두고 있다. 26일 공개된 검찰 공소장에는 음료 종류와 차량 동선, 복장과 현장에서 사용할 말까지 공범과 사전에 논의했다는 검찰의 판단이 담긴 것으로 전해졌다. 이 대표는 이날 사퇴 회견에서 부산시장 후보 사건을 직접 언급하지 않았다. 이번 사퇴의 직접적인 배경으로 해당 사건을 단정할 수 없는 이유다. 다만 이 대표가 후보 지원에 적극 나섰고 사건 이후 스스로 공천에 대한 책임을 인정했던 만큼 대표직 사퇴를 계기로 부산에서 불거졌던 후보 검증과 공천 책임 문제가 다시 수면 위로 떠오를 지는 미지수다.。    NEW DELHI -- India successfully carried out Saturday the first of a series of key test flights after overcoming a technical glitch ahead of its planned mission to take astronauts into space by 2025, the space agency said.The test involved launching a module to outer space and bringing it back to earth to test the spacecraft’s crew escape system, said the Indian Space Research Organization chief S. Somanath, and was being recovered after its touchdown in the Bay of Bengal. The launch was delayed by 45 minutes in the morning because of weather conditions. The attempt was again deferred by more than an hour because of an issue with the engine, and the ground computer put the module's lift-off on hold, said Somanath.The glitch caused by a monitoring anomaly in the system was rectified and the test was carried out successfully 75 minutes later from the Sriharikota satellite launching station in southern India, Somanath told reporters.It would pave the way for other unmanned missions, including sending a robot into space next year.In September, India successfully launched its first space mission to study the sun, less than two weeks after a successful uncrewed landing near the south pole region of the moon.After a failed attempt to land on the moon in 2019, India in September joined the United States, the Soviet Union and China as only the fourth country to achieve the milestone.The successful mission showcased India’s rising standing as a technology and space powerhouse and dovetails with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's desire to project an image of an ascendant country asserting its place among the global elite. Signaling a roadmap for India’s future space ambitions, Modi earlier this week announced that India’s space agency will set up an Indian-crafted space station by 2035 and land an Indian astronaut on the moon by 2040. Active since the 1960s, India has launched satellites for itself and other countries, and successfully put one in orbit around Mars in 2014. India is planning its first mission to the International Space Station next year in collaboration with the United States.。
